G2 Esports is a French professional esports organization founded in November 2013 by Carlos "ocelote" Rodriguez Santiago. The organization also hosts squads in League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone, Rocket League and Super Smash Bros.
G2 Esports' first League of Legends team was formed in December 2013, when the roster of the former Gamers2 organization was acquired. The Counter Strike: Global Offensive team was signed in February 2015, with the ex-Epsilon eSports roster. The Hearthstone squad was signed in August 2015, with the ex-Team Nihilum roster. The Rocket League team was formed in October 2015.
In January 2016, G2 Esports expanded into Super Smash Bros. with the signing of the ex-mYinsanity roster.
G2 Esports has seen success in all the games it competes in. The League of Legends team won the EU LCS Spring Split in 2016 and 2017. The Counter Strike: Global Offensive team won the ELEAGUE Major Boston in 2018. The Hearthstone team won the World Championship in 2018. The Rocket League team won the RLCS Season 5 World Championship in 2017.
G2 Esports is one of the most successful and well-known esports organizations in the world.

G2 Esports is a French esports organization created in November 2013 by Carlos "ocelote" Rodríguez Santiago. The organization also hosts players from other disciplines, such as Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, and PUBG.
In League of Legends, G2 Esports has been one of the most successful Western teams. They were the first Western team to make it to the finals of the Mid-Season Invitational, and they are the only Western team to have won two LCS splits in a row. In 2018, G2 Esports won the League of Legends World Championship, becoming the first ever European team to do so.
In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, G2 Esports has been one of the top French teams. They have won multiple tournaments, including the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals and the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018.
In Rainbow Six Siege, G2 Esports is the most successful team in the world, with multiple tournament wins including the Six Major Paris 2018 and the Six Invitational 2019.
In Rocket League, G2 Esports is one of the top teams in Europe, with multiple tournament wins including the Rocket League Championship Series Season 5.

G2 Esports has been embroiled in a number of controversies over the years. Most recently, the team was accused of match fixing in its ESL Pro League match against North American team Renegades. The team was also accused of cheating in its IEM Katowice match against Polish team Virtus.pro.
Other controversies include G2 player Richard "shox" Papillon being caught using an aimbot in a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive match, and the team's use of an unofficial coach in a match against Fnatic.
Despite the controversies, G2 Esports has remained one of the top teams in the world, and its players are some of the most popular and recognizable in the esports scene.
