Imperial Esports Bids Farewell to Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo
Imperial Esports announces the departure of Gabriel 'FalleN' Toledo after a 17-month tenure. His next chapter unfolds with FURIA.

In the wake of recent developments, Imperial Esports has publicly disclosed the exit of their renowned player, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo. This development draws the curtain on FalleN's noteworthy period of service, lasting 17 months with the celebrated esports organization.

News of FalleN’s exit from Imperial circulated in advance of his anticipated transition to FURIA. Speculation was fuelled by Dust2.br's earlier reporting, which indicated that the prominent AWPer was on track to join the top-ranking Brazilian team. However, the intricacies of his buyout remained under discussion. The confirmation of the transfer was later announced by GameArena on Sunday, stating that a settlement had been reached. The report also hinted at Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes's impending transfer to FURIA, thereby completing their team.

FalleN's Journey with Imperial Esports

FalleN's association with Imperial commenced in February 2022, marking the launch of his ambitious "Last Dance" initiative. The project saw the collaboration of two key members from the illustrious Luminosity/SK double Major-winning base. The intended scope of the project was not fully realized, with Epitacio "TACO" de Melo and Marcelo "coldzera" David notably absent from the line-up. Despite this, the team under FalleN's guidance demonstrated periods of exceptional performance and succeeded in capturing substantial viewer engagement during their matches.

Under FalleN's stewardship, the team secured a slot at the PGL Major Antwerp, progressing through the Challengers Stage, only narrowly missing the playoffs due to a 2-3 record in the Legends Stage. Besides this achievement, the team also participated in the Challengers Stage of the IEM Rio Major and several other prominent events such as IEM Cologne 2022 and ESL Pro League Season 17, although they frequently made an early exit in the group stages.

A High Note Amid Speculations

Interestingly, Imperial's most commendable accomplishment occurred amidst the growing rumors of FalleN's potential departure. The team managed to advance to the semi-finals at the BLAST Premier Spring Final. This impressive feat was made possible following victories over teams like Vitality and Complexity, before succumbing in a close three-map series against the eventual winners, Heroic.

The Esports organization offered a touching tribute to FalleN in their statement: "From the moment you joined us, you brought with you the essence of competition, teamwork, camaraderie, and the fun of playing with friends and for something you believe in." The organization further noted the unforgettable moments, exciting victories, record-breaking performances, and the passion that FalleN brought to the team.

A Heartfelt Departure

FalleN reciprocated with an equally emotional farewell, expressing gratitude towards the organization for their faith in the project and Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, without whom he said the project would not have been possible.

FalleN's parting words were heartfelt, stating, "Words are missing to say how difficult it was to choose to be away from you [Imperial]. I can easily say that you guys helped me to find myself again - to find my balance, happiness in doing more of what I love. Every point of view of you, every discussion, every victory and defeat, thank you for the opportunity to live and work with you. I will never forget."
